Schedule Update & Spirit World!

Friends,
We wanted to give you an overdue update on our production schedule, but first, we have to show you a little more of the art from the book, just because it’s so cool (and mysterious, and possibly haunted by a mysterious dragon spirit, and also cool).
Schedule Update: PDFs Coming, Physical Products Delayed
The good news is that we plan to release the full PDF bundle, including the books, world map, and NPC and Location cards to backers by the end of October. Woohoo! We’re currently in final approvals with Avatar Studios, and we’re excited to share all of this amazing stuff with you all very soon.
The full production of books, scrolls, coins, maps, boxes (and so on) will begin about the same time, and should put us in shape to deliver to backers by March 2027. We’ll know more as we hear back from our factory about the components, and we’ll keep you all updated as things get on boats.
We apologize for this longer-than-expected delay as we work through approvals, and appreciate your patience. That said, the most important thing is that we’re very happy with the product we’ve created along with the talented folks at Magpie and Avatar Studios, and hope you will be too.
Coming Soon: Spirit World
On that note, we want to remind you all that Magpie Games has just announced that they are bringing a full Spirit World book to Kickstarter later this year:
You can read more on their newest Kickstarter update, but here’s a quick summary:
Spirit World is a setting guide covering everything you need to know about bringing the Spirit World into your game, including rules for traveling to the Spirit World and interacting with spirits, information on the major spirits that have impacted the world, and even guides to the most important locations in the Spirit World itself.
The Spirit World is one of the most dynamic parts of the Avatarverse, and we can’t wait for you to add it to your game! Follow the Kickstarter page now to stay current on all the updates as we get ready to launch, including previews of the book, new accessories, and more!
We hope you’re excited for this new book! The Magpie Games team has been working on it for years, and we can’t wait to see how it looks.
Thanks again for your continued understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Bill, Charlie, Jon, Matthew, and Paul
Tour of the Unity: The Hungry Worm

Friends,
This week we'll continue with our tour of the Unity.
Welcome to The Hungry Worm.
This bookstore and curiosity shop seems more like a hoarder’s museum, and looks like you might get buried in an avalanche of debris if the ship ever hits heavy weather. That said, it’s a good place to find books you’ve never heard of and things you had no idea you needed. Patrons of the store find it difficult to say who owns The Hungry Worm, as the staff, which consists entirely of teenagers, rotates constantly, and no one seems to be definitively in charge. In truth, the teenagers are on the run after stealing the contents of a warehouse owned by the criminals in the port of Bear Rock. What they thought was valuable pottery turned out to be a collection of books and trinkets from estate sales. They then bribed their way onto the Unity, and one hand-painted sign later they had their own shop.
Things you could find in The Hungry Worm:
• Ears for Days: an illustrated book about koala-otters, with tips on cleaning and grooming
• Where the Bodies are Buried (Next to the Tulips): a book about gardening
• An antique sextant
• Bird cages (which about fit escaping Elephant Rats, which is not foreshadowing at all)
Final design approvals and pre-production samples continue to proceed apace, and we hope to have a final production timeline to share with you after Gen Con. And speaking of Gen Con, if you're going to the convention please stop by Booth #836 and say hi! We'll be there.
Thanks again,
All the best,
Bill, Charlie, Jon, Matthew, and Paul
Shipping Hazards

Friends,
This is a shipping hazard you might run into in your voyage on the Unity.
While the shipping hazards we face creating the Voyage of the Unity are not so fearsome, they do look as if they might have the upper hand. We are working with our fulfillment partners, and should have a more concrete shipping update by the end of July, but at this point we are unlikely to make our initial shipping estimate of September.
Never fear, we shall crawl out of the belly of this beast, and get you sailing into the unknown as soon as possible.
Thanks again,
Bill, Charlie, Jon, Matthew, and Paul
Tour of the Unity: Mora's Tea and Sweets

Friends,
Let's continue with our tour of the Unity!
There are essentials in life. Air. Water. Food.
Then there are ESSENTIALS. Two of those, tea and sweet cakes, can be found at Mora's Tea and Sweets.
Mora’s Tea and Sweets
Mora’s shop is made up of tents stretched across temporary wooden frames. Inside, the seating area is dark and filled with small, cramped tables with high edges to keep the teacups and plates from sliding off during high seas. Plates piled high with sweet cakes and buns of indeterminate age hang from the ceiling in nets that sway as the ship rolls.
Mora is a constant fixture in her shop, and buzzes from table to table making sure everyone is happy and satisfied. She has an ear for gossip, and no conversation within the shop, no matter how carefully guarded, will escape her notice. Good customers who compliment her tea or cakes can exchange gossip with her, and Mora always loves to hear any stories about the other shops. She also has a bit of a crush on Yazyo, of the Dragon’s Tongue, and is particularly keen to get stories about him.
Next week, The Hungry Worm.
Meanwhile, in the 'real' world, we're working through approvals and laying out the adventures. We're working with the factory to make sure we understand the production timing and shipping dates, and will let you know when we have updates.
Very excited to set sail.
Thanks again,
All the best,
Bill, Charlie, Jon, Matthew, and Paul
A Tour of the Unity

Friends,
For this week's update, I thought we could start a tour of the Unity, but rather than run through the dimensions and so on, I thought we'd start with the important bits, like where you'd want to eat.
The first and cheapest choice is to eat in the general mess hall, which has 3 rules: No charge. No complaining. No seconds.
But for those who do want to spend a little coin, there are shops on board that cater to more refined, or at least adventurous palates. Today we'll talk about the best option for those with iron tongues and stronger stomachs.
The Dragon's Tongue
A small storefront with a few scattered tables and a sign of a dragon, eating noodles too spicy even for his tongue, mark the infamous Dragon’s Tongue. Behind the storefront are a riot of pots and pans enveloped in steam that seems to coalesce into faces of roaring dragons before dissolving into the rafters.
Yazyo, a small, balding man with enough mustache for three much larger men, hovers around the periphery of the store, avoiding eye contact with the customers. He is both shy and mildly paranoid that one of the customers might be a spy there to steal his recipes, which he changes daily. Consequently, the composition and flavor of the noodles vary on a day-to-day basis, and the intensity of spice ranges from mildly uncomfortable to outright dangerous. On days where the noodles are the spiciest, Yazyo will remember anyone who cleaned their plate, and will be willing to share information with them or even do favors. He views spice tolerance as a sign of high moral character, which should be rewarded (though not by lowering the price of their meal, to be clear). He has a keen ear and a sharp eye, and could be of help to the companions if they need information on the passengers or crew.
Next week, Mora's Tea and Sweets.
Thanks again,
All the best,
Bill, Charlie, Jon, Matthew, and Paul
P.S.
Meanwhile, in a completely different universe... Our Kickstarter to support Star Trek Mystery and Escape Room Games: DS9 & Lower Decks is about to wrap up!
We have less than 24 hours to go with the main campaign. While we will still be able to accept pledges for a short time afterwards via BackerKit, the special Kickstarter discounts will disappear at midnight tonight (Tuesday 5/5). So please help us get the word out to anyone who might still be considering a pledge!
