Character Art Updates & Skullduggery Final Hours!

Friends,

Happy to give you a quick update on our progress as we get into September. We continue to make good progress on character art, and we thought we’d share a few pieces with you!

Zaduk: Captain of the Unity

Mem: Mayor of Igneous Bay (possibly plotting something...)

Kyo: A Passenger with a Mysterious Past (admittedly, that covers a lot of the crew)

Finally, we’re going to be posting information for GMs who want to help play test some of the adventures on our Discord server this week (we’re about to revamp how the Discord is organized, so we’ll have to wait until that’s done).

Pledge Manager & Skullduggery Campaign Launches Today!

We have received completed Pledge Manager Surveys from 81% of you! Thank you for reviewing your pledges and providing us with your shipping info.

Pledge Manager Update

Everyone who used the Kickstarter Pay Over Time option should now have received your Backerkit Pledge Manager Survey email. If you haven't received it yet or are having any trouble getting or completing your Pledge Manager Survey, please email us at [email protected] or message us via Kickstarter and we'll get your issues resolved ASAP!

We expect to keep these surveys open into September to give everyone plenty of time to complete their surveys and make any changes you need to your pledges and add-ons. Once we Lock Orders, the next step will be to finalizing shipping costs in a few months once we have final dimensions and weights on the pledge items.

Product Design Update

We also expect to have a bunch of approvals on final art (like this mysterious firebender) and element designs in the coming days and weeks, and we'll post those updates here for you to see progress and get an insight into what the final adventure and premium editions will look like.

We'll also be running playtests of the adventures on our Discord Server in the coming weeks, so if you're interested in joining in on the playtests or the discussion just head over to our Discord Server and join the conversation!

Development Updates, Play Testing and Pledge Manager Survey

Hey Avatar Backers!

Just wanted to quickly touch base and let you know how development is progressing on Voyage of the Unity!

We're continuing to push artwork, both for the scrolls and characters, through the approvals pipelines. We don't have any finals to show yet but we'll post them when they're completely approved. 

Writing the adventures is continuing as well, and we should have 4 out of 5 done this month!

And about that, we'll be looking for Play Testers soon! We'll be organizing this through our Discord server (but will keep you posted in updates here as well). In the meantime, please check our Discord and start a conversation!

Finally, we will be sending out the Backerkit Pledge Manager Survey email over the next two days, so keep an eye out for the email from Backerkit! Once you log into your Backerkit account, the survey will confirm your pledge, your add-ons and let you pick exactly which scrolls you want!

When you fill out the Backerkit Survey, you'll see that we're not charging for shipping yet. We plan to wait until we're closer to the fulfillment date to enter and charge you for the shipping of your physical items to ensure that the fulfillment prices are accurate and fair. So when you fill out the Backerkit Survey now, we will collect and securely store your payment info so you won't have to fill out the survey again. We will update you once we enter the final shipping prices and before charging you in BackerKit.

And we'll do our best to make sure that those final shipping charges are as close to the estimates that we shared during the Kickstarter campaign as possible!

IT AIN'T OVER 'TIL IT'S OVER! STRETCH GOAL HIT!

Hey Avatar Backers!

Wow! Your support keeps coming, and we're thrilled to say we've HIT OUR NEXT STRETCH GOAL! We will be designing and producing the RARE TECHNIQUES Bending Scroll, which will include forms for bloodbending, lightningbending, and flying! The art for this new scroll will be included in the PDF and booklets for the adventures, and will be available as one of your scroll options for the Legendary and Dragon Edition Tiers. This scroll will also be available as an add-on.

This is the final scroll, so the complete set of scrolls that are available includes:

• Waterbending
• Airbending
• Firebending
• Earthbending
• Sword scroll
• Rare Techniques scroll
• Dancing Dragon scroll (exclusively available as part of the Dragon Edition)

Each of these scrolls will include original form art commissioned from Patrick Spaziante and printing on a fabric scroll with a wooden dowel and engraved wooden ends. Here's the production prototype of the waterbending scroll:

Our goal in producing these scrolls is to give each of you the option to pick just the scrolls you want—whether it's to support the characters in your game or your favorite moments from the show.

SO WHAT'S NEXT?

You'll make all of your scroll choices in the Backerkit Pledge Manager. That includes picking scrolls for the Legendary and Dragon Editions as well as as add-ons to your pledge. If you already added scrolls as add-ons to your pledge, you'll be able to add more in the Backerkit Pledge Manager.

We'll be sending out the Backerkit Survey in an email next month. When you get that email, you'll click on the link to go to your Backerkit Pledge Manager account where you'll make your choices, add your shipping address, and provide us with payment info for when we charge for shipping later in the year.
